  From an investigation of the situation in Thailand and the current Information Technology (IT)
Development; information, network system and information application, we can see that the demand of an assessment in extensive information, the hypothetical situation in engineering or the natural circumstances has become increasingly necessary. This is to develop the competitive ability, to decrease loss in real operation and to foretell and prevent natural disaster in which currently the nation has invested bilions-baht budget. Therefore, NECTEC has put a direction to develop high technological efficiency assessment which includes the high-capacity computer system, parallel and group computing and applied use for hypothesis, massive database and Geographic Information System Network.
