Electronics is an essential upstream technology in any kinds of technological
products. It is also growing technology that creates continuous innovations.
Having said that, as for the industry in Thailand, the value-added
growth still has low proportions. This is because most of the industries
in the nation are outsourced. They do not have their own technology,
an ability to develop new products and an industrial support in the
country. These limitations require them to import raw materials and
significant appliances from abroad.
In addition, rules and restrictions which are the newly-formed trade
interference have become a major obstacle in exporting and manufacturing
the ECTI devices. These rules and restrictions in the standardization
are considered to be manufacturing capital on budget, time and technical
capability by which the manufacturer countries need to abide in order
to be accepted in the global market. These factors have forced Thailand
to have strict measures and fixed budget to seriously support the
Research & Development of Electronics. This direction goes in
alignment with that of the Asian countries such as Korea, Taiwan,
and Singapore who have successfully achieved the mission.
